YATED aims to gather under one roof those who manufacture, import, export and trade in the yacht and boat sector in Turkey and to raise the standards of the sector. It endeavours to overcome various obstacles to the development of the sector in Turkey and to develop solutions with the relevant authorities and its own components.
You can check YATED’s brochures for the latest information on the yacht and boat industry and sectoral developments. In our brochures, you can find comprehensive content on important topics such as our association’s activities, projects and member benefits.
It is aimed to make the sector more organised and stronger by gathering the companies engaged in yacht and boat manufacturing, import, export and trade in Turkey and the enterprises providing services to marine tourism under a single roof. This association will increase co-operation within the sector, facilitate information sharing and provide solutions to common problems together.
Determination and implementation of safety standards in marine materials and boat manufacturing is of great importance. In this context, it is aimed to carry out research on related issues and to contribute to the determination of standards by transmitting the information obtained as a result of these researches to the relevant authorities.
It is important that maritime education is made widespread and at the grassroots level in order to ensure that young people are interested in the maritime sector. For this purpose, efforts will be made to organise training programmes, encourage young people to pursue a career in this field and improve the quality of maritime education.
Various activities, campaigns and projects will be organised in order to instil the love of the sea in Turkish people and to promote maritime activities and maritime culture. By introducing maritime activities to the public and raising awareness about the sea, the love and awareness of the sea will be increased in the society.
It is critical for the development of the sector to raise the standards of the companies producing, selling, importing and exporting marine materials and to ensure the determination of professional rules. In this context, relevant companies will be encouraged to produce products and trade in accordance with international standards, and necessary inspections and regulations will be made for the implementation of the determined professional rules.

The Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) was founded on February 14, 2000, under the name DENTUR (Association for the Development of the Marine Industry and Maritime), with the aim of contributing to the development of the yacht and boat sector in Türkiye. The association was established to bring together companies operating in the sector and those serving marine tourism, to enhance sectoral cooperation, and to seek solutions to common industry challenges. On February 25, 2020, during the Ordinary General Assembly, it was decided to continue its activities under the name YATED instead of DENTUR. The main reason for this change was that Türkiye ranks among the top five countries in the global yacht manufacturing industry, and the concepts of “yacht” and “boat” are more widely known and accepted by both government and industry representatives. In fact, these terms are frequently used even in opening speeches when referring to the sector. Therefore, with a consensus that the name “Yacht and Boat Industry Association” would be more accurate, the name change was approved.
In its early years, YATED played a bridging role among the actors in the sector and enabled more effective communication among companies. Through the initial meetings, seminars, and fairs, the needs and expectations of the sector were identified. During this period, one of the most important goals of the association was the establishment and implementation of safety standards, for which various initiatives were undertaken.
In the following years, YATED increased its influence in the industry and began representing Türkiye’s yacht and boat sector on both national and international platforms. During this time, the association carried out various projects in collaboration with schools and universities to promote maritime education and to raise young people’s interest in the sector, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of yacht and boat production in Türkiye.
In recent years, YATED has focused on digital transformation and sustainability, and through its subsidiary, YATED Fuarcılık A.Ş., has organized and co-hosted both land and sea fairs.
Looking to the future, the Yacht and Boat Industry Association aims to further strengthen cooperation among industry stakeholders and to ensure that Türkiye becomes a globally recognized leader in the yacht and boat sector. In line with this vision, the association will continue to develop solutions tailored to the sector’s needs, guided by the principles of continuous development and innovation.
