Between 2018–2024, having served as a member of the ICOMIA Board of Directors, our former Chairman of YATED, Alpaslan Sirkecioğlu, who led the Association between 2012–2023, was once again elected as a Board Member at the ICOMIA General Assembly held in Palma de Mallorca on May 29, 2025.
Since 2004, our Association has been representing Türkiye’s Marine Industry internationally as a full member of ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations).
Between May 26–29, 2025, representatives from 38 countries around the world, all members of the maritime industry, attended the Congress, where participants shared their knowledge and experiences in ICOMIA Committee meetings. On May 29, during the ICOMIA Annual General Meeting, elections were held for the Board of Directors and the Presidency. New appointments were also made for the Marinas Group, Technical Committee, Sustainability, Market Development and Statistics, and Boating Promotion Committees.
Frank Hugelmeyer (NMMA – USA) was elected as President of the ICOMIA Board of Directors, Jarkko Pajusalo (FINBOAT – Finland) as Vice President, and Lesley Robinson OBE (British Marine – UK) as Treasurer. The four vacant Board Member positions were filled by Alpaslan Sirkecioğlu (YATED), Jose Luis Fayos (ANEN), Mats Eriksson (SWEBOAT), and Andrew Scott (BIA).
