Founded in 2009 with the aim of advancing and representing a sustainable boating and nautical tourism industry, EBI (European Boating Industry) accepted YATED as a full member in 2024.
The EBI General Assembly Meeting, which is held twice a year, took place between 16–18 June 2025 in Hamburg, Germany.

With the participation of two new members (Portugal – ACAP/APICAN and France – Fédération Française des Ports de Plaisance (FFPP)), EBI has reached 32 members. The meeting celebrated both the strategic importance of EBI and the remarkable growth of the EBI community.

Updates were shared on the activities of the working groups focusing on reducing carbon footprints—one of the main sources of climate change—through the creation and implementation of a methodology that measures the environmental impact across the full lifecycle of boats (from raw material extraction and production, to manufacturing, distribution, use, decommissioning, recycling, and disposal). These working groups include Blue Boat Horizon (BBH), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Recreational Craft Directive (RCD), end-of-life boats, and boat conversion initiatives. It was also announced that the LCA studies will be carried out in cooperation with NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association) and ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations), both operating on a global scale.

In addition, the signing of Memoranda of Understanding with EFTTA (European Fishing Tackle Trade Association) and Blue Flag – Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), operating within the European Union, was unanimously approved.

A presentation was also delivered by the Croatian representative regarding their initiative called WIN (Women in Nautica), which focuses on “The Role of Women in the Maritime and Boating Industry,” and outlined the activities carried out under this program (available for download below).
