YATED aims to gather under one roof those who manufacture, import, export and trade in the yacht and boat sector in Turkey and to raise the standards of the sector. It endeavours to overcome various obstacles to the development of the sector in Turkey and to develop solutions with the relevant authorities and its own components.
You can check YATED’s brochures for the latest information on the yacht and boat industry and sectoral developments. In our brochures, you can find comprehensive content on important topics such as our association’s activities, projects and member benefits.
It is aimed to make the sector more organised and stronger by gathering the companies engaged in yacht and boat manufacturing, import, export and trade in Turkey and the enterprises providing services to marine tourism under a single roof. This association will increase co-operation within the sector, facilitate information sharing and provide solutions to common problems together.
Determination and implementation of safety standards in marine materials and boat manufacturing is of great importance. In this context, it is aimed to carry out research on related issues and to contribute to the determination of standards by transmitting the information obtained as a result of these researches to the relevant authorities.
It is important that maritime education is made widespread and at the grassroots level in order to ensure that young people are interested in the maritime sector. For this purpose, efforts will be made to organise training programmes, encourage young people to pursue a career in this field and improve the quality of maritime education.
Various activities, campaigns and projects will be organised in order to instil the love of the sea in Turkish people and to promote maritime activities and maritime culture. By introducing maritime activities to the public and raising awareness about the sea, the love and awareness of the sea will be increased in the society.
It is critical for the development of the sector to raise the standards of the companies producing, selling, importing and exporting marine materials and to ensure the determination of professional rules. In this context, relevant companies will be encouraged to produce products and trade in accordance with international standards, and necessary inspections and regulations will be made for the implementation of the determined professional rules.

The Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) was established on 14 February 2000 under the name of DENTUR (Association for the Development of the Marine Industry and Shipping) in order to contribute to the development of the yacht and boat industry in Turkey. The association was established to bring together the companies operating in the sector and those serving maritime tourism, to increase sectoral cooperation and to seek solutions to the common problems of the sector. At the Ordinary General Assembly held on 25 February 2020, DENTUR changed its name to YATED and decided to continue on its way. The main reason for this change is that Turkey is among the top five countries in the world yacht manufacturing sector, the concept of yacht and boat is more known and accepted by both the state and sector representatives, and even in the opening speeches, the name change was approved by acting with the consensus that the name ‘Yacht and Boat Industry Association’ would be more accurate because it is an expression used when talking about the sector.
In the first years of its establishment, YATED acted as a bridge between the actors in the sector and enabled the companies in the sector to communicate more effectively with each other. In the first stage, the needs and expectations of the sector were identified through meetings, seminars and fairs. During this period, various studies were carried out to establish and implement safety standards, which is one of the most important goals of the association.
In the period following its establishment, YATED increased its effectiveness in the sector and started to represent Turkey’s yacht and boat sector on national and international platforms. In this period, the Association has implemented various projects to increase the interest of young people in the maritime sector by collaborating with schools and universities to expand maritime education in order to increase the quality of yacht and boat production in Turkey.
In addition to focusing on digital transformation and sustainability in recent years, YATED has organised and participated in Land and Sea fairs with YATED Fuarcılık A.Ş., which was established within its body.
In the future, the Yacht and Boat Industry Association aims to increase co-operation among the actors in the sector and to ensure that Turkey becomes a globally recognised country in the yacht and boat industry. In this direction; it will continue to produce solutions for the needs of the sector by acting with the principles of continuous development and innovation.
