YATED-1 Started Service in Muğla Coasts

The Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) will launch YATED-1, a liquid waste collection boat developed to prevent marine pollution, in Bodrum on June 27.

Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) introduced the liquid waste collection boat named YATED-1, which was developed with an investment of 300 thousand Euros to reduce pollution in the seas. YATED-1, which will be launched in Bodrum on June 27, is completely domestic production.

Murat Bekiroğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of YATED, stated that they started this project in order to draw attention to the problem of liquid waste from boats and to ensure cleaner seas.

Step by Step for Sustainable Seas

Murat Bekiroğlu stated that they announced this project on the first day YATED management took office and that they see this project as an important social responsibility initiative as YATED’s 25th anniversary approaches. The boat, which was built entirely with the support of YATED and its business partners, stands out as one of the largest fiber boats in Turkey in terms of waste collection capacity. YATED-1, which meets its energy needs with solar panels, has an environmentally friendly structure. There is also a section on the boat where employees can relax.

YATED announced that they do not aim to make a profit with this boat, but on the contrary, they will determine an appropriate pricing policy to ensure that the seas remain clean. A pricing system will be created to encourage boat and yacht owners not to dump their liquid waste into the sea. The boat, which operates on an appointment system, will move on designated routes with the aim of collecting maximum waste.
