We played a major role in the abolition of the MTV applied to marine vessels, which constitutes one of the biggest obstacles to the development of Amateur Maritime, in the registration of Turkish-owned foreign-flagged yachts to the Mooring Registry, in the entry into force of the regulation allowing the transition to the Turkish flag, and we prepared reports containing the problems of our sector and our solution suggestions and submitted them to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure,
As a result of the meetings and workshops; With the Law No. 6770 dated 18/1/2017 and the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2017/9759 dated 31/1/2017; As of 18/1/2017, foreign flagged “Yachts, Kotras, Boats and Recreational Vessels” owned by Turkish citizens were allowed to pass to the Turkish Flag and register to the Mooring Registry by paying 0% SCT and 1% VAT, the mooring registry visa fees were abolished, and in this way, nearly 7000 marine vessels were initiated and guided to pass to the Turkish flag.
With this regulation, our seafarers have been encouraged to proudly fly the Turkish flag on their boats in the Blue Homeland and International Waters, and an increase in SSI and Tax Revenues has been achieved by extending the coverage of boat personnel to the SSI.
