After the February 6, 2023 earthquakes, YATED Board of Directors paid a support visit to Sefa Atakaş Maritime Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Hatay Iskenderun Region. YATED, which decided to support the school after the visit, first provided financial aid to the school to eliminate the damage caused after the earthquake.
During the school visit, the composite boat project undertaken by students and teachers with limited resources was also examined on site.
In the following process, a separate support decision was taken for this project and as a result of the cooperation, an educational project was realized between Sefa Atakaş Maritime MTAL.
Within the scope of this project, YATED provided both financial support and training and technical support in the production of 2 boats under 5 meters, which students and teachers tried to produce with their own means.
We hosted our department teachers who were invited to Istanbul for a week. During this period, our teachers participated in a one-week workshop at our member company Telgeren & Partners. Within the scope of the workshop, all the molds of the boat they made with their own students as special production in the previous education and training periods were renewed. A productive work was carried out with our teachers by using the new molds in the best way and the molds were sent to İskenderun. The first boat produced under the name Atakaş Marine was exhibited and sold at the Bosphorus Boat Show.
